Hauntology is a concept that references the paradoxes found in postmodern art, usually consisting of nostalgia and revivalism. This can be applied to our current media’s obsession with the 80’s and 90’s. VIDEA N HAUNTOLOGY is a rejection of this trend via the destruction of two televisions from the respective times. Television was the primary form of information delivery pre-internet. By using such a violent destruction method and leaving the artifacts of the performance, I hope the audience takes notice of the surrealistic nature of the site and contemplates the ideas proposed.
